The World Bank Group provides free, open, and easy access to its comprehensive set of data on living standards around the globe—some 8,000 indicators, including hundreds that go back 50 years. The data are available in Arabic, Chinese, French, and Spanish in addition to English.
Access to these resources is available at data.worldbank.org, a central website that makes it easier to find, use, and manipulate data. A data catalog lists the available databases. You can click on the database button to enter any one of the databases and start selecting and manipulating the data. To view all of the available indicators in a particular database, download one of the available file formats—xls, csv, xml, etc.
